This post is long overdue, but with moving and being without a computer, etc. for so long, now is about the first chance I have had to sit down and work on it.
Anders has grown up SOOO much in the past 6 weeks. It is just crazy. He has all four teeth on top now. He LOVES to eat whatever we are eating. I don't think he really loves food that much yet, he just likes to be in on the action, and doing whatever we are doing. He really wants to be big and run around so bad. He loves watching the other kids at church run around, and he really is doing his darndest to join in. He is not crawling yet, but LOVES to walk around with his walker. He doesn't get on hands and knees to rock back and forth anymore. That's just too baby-ish for this kid. Instead he gets on his hands and feet (bear-crawl style) and tries and tries to figure out how to stand up. He loves to jabber. He says "mum"or "mum-mum-mum" when he is sad, which just melts my heart. Love it. He says "Bob" "Bop" Pop-pop" "baba" and other such words when he is happy. He still LOVES watching "Oui Oui". Its his favorite show. And unfortunately he has become a little obsessed. We let him watch it a bunch when we were unpacking and such, and now he thinks that whenever he sees an i-pad, its sole purpose is to play oui oui for him. He gets soo mad if he sees one of us on the iPad.
Last monday we decided to sing "Love at Home" for FHE. Anders was not so sure it was a good idea. Everytime we started to sing he would burst into tears. He even tried to cover our mouths with his hands. If we stopped singing, he stopped crying, and when we started again, he started again. I even tried humming the tune to him several minutes after we were done singing, just to see what would happen, and sure enough he started wailing and the tears started coming out. I didn't know we were such terrible singers.
Anders and I signed up for a Mommy/Baby swim class at the fitness center. We go once a week for a half hour. He LOVES it. We have only been twice, the first time he loved, the second time he recognized the locker room, and it was all I could do it get him in his swim suit, he was so excited. He kept choking on water during the lesson because he was too excited to close his mouth! I don't think he stopped smiling/splashing/wiggling the entire time we were there. He is the youngest in the class. The other babies stand up on the edge of the pool and jump to their moms. Anders sits on the edge and wiggles himself in. He isn't about to let this not being able to walk business keep him from missing out on the fun. He actually has a really strong kick, and uses his arms quite well in the water. Im sure that if I let go of him he could go quite a ways before he sunk, but im not going to try it. The kicking and splashing do make it very difficult to hold on to him however. I always look like a drown rat by the time we are done.
I need to set up a Dr appointment for this little man. I can tell he is getting heavier again. Its seems that all of a sudden one day, I pick him up and it feels like he has bricks in his pockets. He still wakes up often at night to eat (crazy kid) but has been going a little longer in between I think we are up to 4 hours on average now.
Well, he is awake from his nap now, and is demanding my attention, so off i go.
